Official Brewvival 2013 Update

We are counting down to the sold out, fourth annual Brewvival on February 23rd – less than two days away!  Here (and at Brewvival.com) are all the details.  Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday!

Overview:

Put on by COAST Brewing Co. and The Charleston Beer Exchange, the highest quality and most unique beers from the best breweries in the country (and world) will be available for your sampling pleasure at this all-day celebration.

From Noon to 6pm, you will have the opportunity to meet brewers, brewery owners and representatives and taste some of their most special creations including many extremely rare offerings hardly ever seen elsewhere.  Follow the ever increasing list here http://brewvival.com/beers (and bear in mind we are continuously adding more – and there will be some big surprises too!)

To help keep things rocking, there will be great live music throughout the day from James Justin and Co., Graham Whorley and The Kingston Springs.
Food providers will also be on hand as we all know food and beer go well together. This year we’re excited to have Diggity Doughnuts, AutoBanh, Coleman Public House, Ted’s Butcherblock, Roti Rolls, Big Boned BBQ and D’Allesandro’s on the scene. Food will be very reasonably priced.

FAQ:

Brewvival is rain or shine.  This year, it looks like rain but we’re going to have blast no matter what the weather!

We had hoped to unveil an extremely expansive new layout for the festival this year.  One which included using a dramatically greater length of the field to spread things out much more than years past.  While we’ll still be doing some of that, we’ve had to tighten up the layout a bit (still much more spread out than last year) to reduce the amount of uncovered areas thanks to the weather forecast.

The weather forecast does indeed call for a high chance of rain.  While there is tent coverage, everyone should still expect to have a damp day and dress appropriately.  We HIGHLY encourage rain boots and rain coats.  The grounds will likely get a bit muddy.  Umbrellas will be allowed as well.

Many people have inquired about bringing their own pop up/tailgate tents.  Please bear in mind that we will have a good portion of tent coverage so we do not encourage the bringing of your own tent.  That said, we will allow people to set them up in a designated area at the far end of the field.  Only this area may be used and if it gets full before you set up, you will not be able to put your tent up.  Please also note that doing so is at your own risk.  Please take all precaution to make your tent secure if you should choose to set up.

Here are some of the key details you’ll need for a safe, great time:

Samples are not limited but responsible drinking is required.

Most beers will be on tap at noon/opening (with the exception of some breweries that will be rotating a larger number of beers throughout the day).  While there is plenty of great beer available for the full day, there are no guarantees how long certain specialties will last so we suggest planning accordingly.

Ticket price includes everything but food.

Please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs/blankets.

While we are dog lovers, we need you to leave your pets at home. Thanks for understanding.

There will be plenty of water on hand. Remember to hydrate throughout.  Bringing your own refillable water bottle is welcome.

There will be no coolers, food or alcoholic beverages allowed inside the festival area.

There is plenty of free parking close to the festival grounds.

A commemorative Brewvival tasting glass is included with your ticket and is the only vessel that can be used for beer sampling.  If you lose or break your glass, you can purchase a new one (while supplies last).  If you do not wish to pay for a new glass, we will provide you with a crappy plastic cup free of charge.  (Crappy plastic replacement cup is the only other type of approved vessel at the festival.)

Don’t forget your ID!  You will absolutely need it, no exception.

The festival grounds are located at the field across from 1250 2nd St. N, North Charleston, SC 29405.

Call or email us with any questions or concerns.  See you out there!
