May 16th, 2016

Revelry Pay By The Hour Growlers!!! (5/17)
This Tuesday (5/17) @5pm  we are super excited to feature Revelry Brewing’s Pay By The Hour on our growler station!! Starting out life as a refreshing Bavarian wheat beer, this golden beauty was later soured and dry-hopped!  Citra and Falconer’s Flight hops provide a juicy does of citrus aromas and at 4.9% this beer is not only tart and complex but also insanely drinkable!  This is a draft only beer and we do not anticipate seeing any bottles. So, bring all your growlers!!

Edmund’s Oast Beer School!!! (5/18)

Edmund’s Oast will once again launch their popular Beer School series the third Wednesday of every month. Led by Brandon Plyler, manager at The Charleston Beer Exchange and a Certified Cicerone, the focus of May 18 is 50 Shades of Farmhouse. Explore what “Farmhouse” means and the varying degrees of weirdness and experimentation this vague category of beer covers. These beers will be paired with cheeses from goat.sheep.cow.

Dark Horse Smells Like A Safety Meeting Double Dry-Hopped IPA Growler Fills (5/3)

May 2nd, 2016

This week we have an incredible hop-overload experience for you!!!  Hops, which are used for aroma & bitterness in beer, are closely related to species of plants in the hemp family, and certain varietals share similar aromas between each other.  Our friends at Dark Horse Brewing Company, located in tiny Marshall, MI, decided to dry-hop an 8.5% abv IPA recipe twice over, so you can experience an over-the-top hop aroma reminiscent of a “safety meeting” from across the room!

We will tap our only keg of this exceptionally fresh, and very limited, beer tomorrow (5/3) at 5pm!  *Due to the limited nature of this beer we will only be filling 32oz growlers.  Be sure you don’t miss out on this one, you’ll want to drink this one fresh!!!*

FREE New Belgium/Hof ten Dormaal Tasting Event (4/19)

April 18th, 2016

Most of you are quite familiar with New Belgium Brewing Company‘s Lips of Faith Series, which aims to brew uniquely interesting beers on a regular basis.  For their latest release, they have teamed up with a Belgian farm brewery from the tiny town of Tildonk called Hof ten Dormaal.  Blending together traditional Old World ingredients and New World innovation, they have crafted an uncommon springtime golden ale using spelt, malted sunflower seeds, wild carrot herbs, and Saaz & Mosaic hops!!!  That combination should give spicy & tropical notes on the bouquet and a nutty/bready/grassy flavor on the palate.  We will tap our only keg of this very special beer at 4:30pm on Tuesday 4/19 for growler fills of all sizes!  As a bonus, all 64oz growler fills will receive a 25th Anniversary New Belgium globe glass (while supplies last)!!!

As if that wasn’t enough, we just happen to have some other Hof ten Dormaal beers we thought would be super cool to taste through!  Available to sample from 4:30pm-6:30pm on Tuesday 4/19 will be:

  • New Belgium/Hof ten Dormaal Lips of Faith Golden Ale
  • Hof ten Dormaal Saison
  • Hof ten Dormaal Frambuesa i Chocolate (Dark Sour Beer brewed with Chocolate & Raspberries)
  • Hof ten Dormaal Zure (Spontaneously Fermented Sour Golden Ale)

Drop in at any time for this awesome and amazing event!  See you Tuesday!
